Position Overview
Sleepy Hollow Country Club is seeking a motivated, service-driven First Assistant Golf Professional to join one of the most prestigious golf operations in the country. This is a 12-month position designed for a rising PGA Professional who is 2–3 years away from Head Golf Professional readiness and is eager to gain well-rounded, high-level experience in a traditional, high-touch private club environment.
This role offers a comprehensive development opportunity across all facets of golf operations, including member services, tournament execution, merchandising, instruction, and team leadership.

Position Responsibilities
The First Assistant Golf Professional will play a key leadership role within the golf operation and will be involved in all day-to-day activities, including
Member & Guest Experience
Deliver exceptional service aligned with the club’s high standardsBuild strong relationships with members and guestsSupport daily golf operations, including tee sheet management and pace of playTournament Operations
Plan, organize, and execute a full calendar of eventsUtilize tournament software and scoring systemsAssist in member communications and event promotionInstruction & Player Development
Provide individual and group instructionLeverage the club’s indoor teaching facility for year-round programmingSupport junior golf and player development initiativeMerchandising & Retail
Assist with buying, merchandising, and inventory managementMaintain a high-end retail presentation consistent with the club’s brandLeadership & Staff Development
Supervise and mentor Assistant Professionals and staffCoordinate with caddie program and outside operationsContribute to a positive, team-oriented culture

Qualifications
Class A PGA Professional (required)3–6+ years of progressive experience in a private club environmentStrong foundation in all areas of golf operationsDemonstrated leadership and team development skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesHigh attention to detail and organizational skills
