Overview
Job Purpose: To assist the Head Golf Professional in managing the day to day golf operations with an emphasis on establishing systems and controls to grow the profitability of the golf operation consistent with the vision and objectives of DWA Golf, LLC.
Tasks
Golf Operations
Accurately reserve tee times and check in golfers for their tee times. Practice good tee sheet management and rate integrity.
Ensure proper accounting of the golf shop register and all transactions, deposits, and cash.
Practice accurate cash management skills and recommend improvements to the Head Golf Professional.
Have a working knowledge of all club policies and procedures so that you can be accurate in dealing with daily activities.
Operate within all standards of DWA Golf and perform administrative duties when asked.
Golf Tournaments
Aid the Head Golf Professional with all Golf tournament practices and ensure each event is run in accordance with DWA Golf standards.
Manage Day to Day Golf Operations
In the absence of the Head Golf professional, aid in managing and executing the day to day golf operations including all outside operations. This includes training, managing, and developing the entire golf operations team.
Golf Shop Merchandiser
Participate in and learn the proper merchandising practices necessary to keep a good orderly golf shop operation.
Sell merchandise to club members and guests.
Be a salesperson.
Recommend promotions to the Head Golf Professional for implementation.
Lessons
Aid in the development and management of the current teaching operation and use it as a tool to develop new business to the facility. Growth of the lesson programs should be established using the best practices of The PGA of America as they relate to the PGA Professional and DWA Golf.
Support the PGA Initiatives that the club is currently promoting. This includes the PGA Junior League. As part of being an Assistant Golf Professional you will have the opportunity to coach a PGA Junior League team at South Hampton and earn additional compensation for those efforts.
In conjunction with the Head Golf Professional help to develop Seasonal and Holiday promos for golf, shop merchandise, and club as a whole.
In conjunction with the Head Golf Professional aid in developing new marketing programs based on current trends.
Participate in club events and play golf with the members.
Experience Required
Looking for an individual with golf course and some teaching experience. We would like a candidate who has had some PGA Jr League Experience as well.
