Beverage Cart Attendant

The Beverage Cart is an important part of the HCC golf experience. As a Beverage Cart Attendant, you are more than someone delivering drinks and snacks—you are a hospitality professional, salesperson, and ambassador for the Club. You will have the opportunity to interact directly with members and their guests throughout their round while providing prompt, friendly, and attentive service on the golf course. This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and understands how to balance exceptional service with efficiency and salesmanship. We do not believe in micromanaging employees. We hire adults, provide the tools and training necessary to succeed, and expect our team members to be dependable, self-motivated, and accountable for their work. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, understands the importance of building relationships with members, and takes pride in creating a positive experience every time they approach a group on the course. What We Are Looking For 21 years of age or older preferred. Previous serving, bartending, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience preferred. A friendly, outgoing, and professional personality. The ability to confidently engage with members and guests. A strong sense of personal responsibility and the ability to work independently. Basic knowledge of food and beverage service and responsible alcohol service practices. Experience handling cash and operating a Point of Sale (POS) system preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to work efficiently in an outdoor environment and varying weather conditions. A sales-oriented mindset with the ability to make recommendations and promote menu offerings. Dependability, punctuality, and a professional appearance. Availability to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, tournaments, and special events as needed. Primary Responsibilities Provide prompt, friendly, and professional food and beverage service to HCC members and their guests on the golf course. Safely and responsibly operate the Club's beverage cart throughout the golf course. Greet members and guests warmly and provide a welcoming, personable experience. Take and accurately process food and beverage orders using the Club's Point of Sale system. Handle cash and other transactions accurately and responsibly. Maintain a thorough knowledge of available beverages, food items, snacks, daily specials, and promotions. Make thoughtful recommendations and actively promote additional food and beverage offerings when appropriate. Anticipate member needs and provide efficient service without disrupting the pace of play. Monitor inventory throughout the shift and restock the beverage cart as needed. Ensure the beverage cart is properly stocked, clean, organized, and presentation-ready before leaving for the course. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shift and complete all closing and cleaning responsibilities. Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and Club policies. Communicate with the kitchen, bar, and Food & Beverage team regarding product needs, member requests, and operational concerns. Monitor inventory and report low stock, equipment issues, or maintenance concerns promptly. Maintain accurate records and complete required opening and closing procedures. Represent Hattiesburg Country Club professionally at all times. You are friendly without being intrusive. You recognize when a group may be ready for another round before they have to flag you down. You keep your cart clean, stocked, and organized. You understand that every interaction is an opportunity to provide great service and generate revenue. You take ownership of your cart and your shift. When business is slow, you do not wait to be told what to do—you restock, clean, organize, check inventory, and prepare for the next rush. When something needs attention, you communicate it.
