About the Role
Summary:
The Golf Course Maintenance Worker is responsible for the daily maintenance and preparation of the golf courses for the highest attainable playing conditions. Company contributes toward insurance.
Description of Duties:
Perform manual labor and semi-skilled ground construction and maintenance work
Perform assigned responsibility for the care and maintenance of several designated holes on the golf course and related work as required
Operate machinery to mow fairways, tees, greens and roughs on the golf course
Operate small hand powered equipment to maintain trees, curbs, flower beds, drains, yardage markers, fence lines, cart paths, sand bunkers and other related areas
Perform work involving large equipment such as tractors, loaders and gang mowers
Daily set up and maintenance of golf course, tee markers, trash disposal, change cups, tee towels and lags
Maintain fuel and fluid levels for equipment and report equipment problems or failure to mechanic
Perform necessary planting, digging, weeding, watering, fertilizing under the direction of the Supervisor or Director
Move and/or replace cart control barriers, ropes and signs
Install forms and lay walkways and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes
Report all safety hazards to the Supervisor
Additional duties relevant to this position and assigned by the Supervisor or Director of Golf Course Maintenance
During work hours personal cell phone usage is prohibited, the exception would be to contact the Supervisors or emergency personnel (ie: irrigators, mechanic, etc.)

Commercial mowing and weed eating equipment
Related hand tools
Sand bunker rake
Tractors, forklifts and other heavy equipment
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to safely operate equipment and tools
Flexible schedule to work necessary overtime and assigned weekends
Working knowledge of related tools, material and methods used in landscape
Proper landscape techniques used for golf course maintenance
Proper use of personal protective equipment
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Valid NV Driver’s License to operate any company vehicle (and minimum state required auto insurance on personal vehicle, if used for work purposes). This includes but not limited to all types of carts, tractors, mowers, trucks and any rented equipment.
Able to follow oral and written instructions
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Employee must stoop, bend, reach, stand and sit due to the physical nature of caring for golf courses. Frequently must lift up to 50 pounds individually, and occasionally must lift up to 100 pounds assisted. Sufficient physical strength, stamina, and conditioning to maintain large areas of the golf course continuously outdoor in adverse weather conditions including extremely high temperatures. Moderate exposure to noise levels and equipment.
The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such place as golf courses (equipment, sharp blade, errant golf balls). Use of safe work practices with equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is outdoors in extreme heat. Possibility of exposure with hazardous materials used in conjunction with the maintenance of the golf courses.
