Job Overview
The Golf Course Spray Technician is responsible for the safe and effective application of fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and other turf management products to maintain exceptional playing conditions throughout the golf course. This position performs both boom spraying and spot spraying while supporting the golf course maintenance team with course setup and other grounds maintenance responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate has previous turf spraying experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Essential Duties:
· Apply fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and other approved products according to application schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
· Perform boom spraying of fairways, roughs, and other designated turf areas.
· Conduct spot spraying to control weeds, insects, and turf diseases as directed.
· Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain spray equipment to ensure accurate application rates.
· Assist with fertilizer applications and other turf health programs.
· Maintain accurate records of product usage, application dates, rates, and treated areas.
· Monitor turf conditions and report pest, weed, disease, irrigation, or drainage concerns to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
· Follow all company safety procedures and proper handling, mixing, storage, and disposal practices for chemicals and fertilizers.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe chemical storage area.
· Assist with golf course setup duties as needed, including changing cups, setting tee markers, replacing flags, raking bunkers, and preparing the course for daily play.
· Support the golf course maintenance team with general grounds maintenance projects during peak workload periods.
· Operate utility vehicles, tractors, sprayers, and other turf maintenance equipment safely and responsibly.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous experience applying fertilizers and turf chemicals on a golf course, athletic field, landscape, or similar environment required.
· Experience with boom spraying and spot spraying required.
· State pesticide applicator/spray license preferred but not required. Candidates must be willing and able to follow all applicable regulations and company procedures regarding chemical applications.
· Ability to safely operate turf maintenance equipment.
· Basic understanding of turfgrass maintenance practices.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately measure and mix products.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.
· Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods.
· Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and early morning hours.
· Ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE) required for chemical applications.
Certificates/Licenses:
· State pesticide applicator/spray license preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of turfgrass diseases, weeds, and insects.
Experience calibrating spray equipment.
Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to assist with all aspects of golf course maintenance.
Commitment to maintaining high-quality playing conditions and delivering an exceptional golf experience.

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
