Director of Food & Beverage

Carolina Golf Club is known for providing exceptional dining experiences in a welcoming, “second home” atmosphere for our members and their guests. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Food & Beverage to lead all dining and hospitality operations at the Club.
This position is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day management of the Club’s food and beverage operations, including restaurant dining, bar service, banquet functions, and outdoor beverage service. The Director will oversee service standards, financial performance, staff leadership, and member satisfaction across all dining experiences.
The Club hosts a wide variety of dining services, member events, golf tournaments, and private functions throughout the year, requiring strong operational leadership and attention to detail.
The Director of Food & Beverage works closely with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and club leadership team to ensure dining operations support the Club’s overall member experience and long-term goals.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader who is passionate about team development and delivering consistently high service standards in a private club environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food & Beverage Operations
• Oversee all food and beverage outlets including the clubhouse dining room, bar, banquets, and outdoor beverage service.
• Ensure smooth daily operations, consistent service standards, and a welcoming dining environment for members and guests.
• Monitor daily service periods and maintain appropriate staffing levels to support club dining and events.
Financial Management
• Monitor food, liquor, beer, wine, and labor costs to maintain financial performance.
• Oversee purchasing and inventory management while minimizing waste and maintaining product quality.
Staff Leadership & Training
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise front-of-house staff including servers, bartenders, and beverage attendants.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to support staff development.
• Foster a positive team culture focused on professionalism, accountability, and exceptional service.
Member & Guest Experience
• Maintain a visible presence during dining service and club events to ensure a high level of hospitality.
• Respond promptly and professionally to member feedback, service issues, and special requests.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance the overall dining experience.
Events & Club Functions
• Oversee food and beverage service for weddings, golf tournaments, member events, banquets, and social functions.
• Coordinate staffing and operational planning to ensure successful event execution.
• Work closely with the culinary team and club staff to support event planning and service.
Menu & Beverage Program
• Partner with the Executive Chef to develop menus, seasonal offerings, and dining specials.
• Oversee beverage programming including wine selections, cocktails, and bar offerings.
• Evaluate member feedback and dining trends to enhance offerings.
Compliance & Leadership Collaboration
• Ensure compliance with health regulations, alcohol service laws, and club policies.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards across all outlets.
• Work closely with the General Manager and club leadership to align food and beverage operations with overall club goals.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of food and beverage leadership experience, preferably in a private club, resort, or upscale hospitality environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or similar preferred.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, beverage management, and event service.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage staff, budgets, and multiple operational priorities.
• High level of professionalism and commitment to exceptional hospitality.
Work Schedule
This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and club events.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
