Seasonal Bartender

**Job Overview and Responsibilities**

**WHAT YOU'LL DO** - The Bartender's main job is to know the standard drink recipes and be able to mix them quickly and accurately. - Occasionally, customers have their own preferences or recipes for a bartender to follow. - Bartenders also check the identification of members and guests at the bars to ensure that they meet the minimum drinking age. - Bartenders take drink orders and serve drinks using Jonas POS computer system to charge members for their drinks. - In the restaurant, bartenders fill drink orders placed by the diners, but the drinks are usually served by waiters. - Bartenders also have additional duties; they arrange bottles and barwares, wash glasses and clean the bar. Bartenders also remove empty bottles and trash and replace empty beer kegs. - Bartenders stock the bar by bringing liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other bar supplies from the storeroom to the bar. - They keep track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies, reporting what is needed to the bar manager.

**Qualifications and Requirements**

**WHAT YOU'LL NEED** - Prior bartending experience in a fast-paced environment - Minimum age requirement for this position is 18 to serve alcoholic beverages per NYS Legal Guidelines - Bartenders must be aware of state and local laws concerning the sale of alcoholic drinks - Unexpired bartender certification - Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions - Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures - Strong communication skills - Highly active, multitasking type of environment - Frequent standing for extended periods of time - Frequent walking - Excellent physical fitness, visual acuity and sense of urgency to attend to members’ needs - Work is performed mainly outdoors throughout the summer - Good interpersonal skills - Proactive in anticipating and responding to members’ needs - Comfortable with taking directions as well as communicating with co-workers - Highly responsible and well-organized in tending to members daily needs - Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times - Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

**Pay and Benefits**

$20.00 - $23.00 hourly
