Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and detail-oriented Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team at Kennett Square Golf & Country Club. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to ensure the daily maintenance and operations of the golf course are executed efficiently, ensuring the course is maintained to the highest standards.

The Assistant Superintendent will alternate weekends with our Assistant Superintendent. Hours will range from 45-65 hours during the growing season and depending on if you are scheduled to work the weekend. Assistant Superintendents are encouraged to take time off during the summer months to maintain a work life balance.

Key Responsibilities:Assist in the planning and supervision of all golf course maintenance activities, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.Supervise and train a crew of groundskeepers, ensuring adherence to proper maintenance standards and safety procedures.Oversee the daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkersMaintain and use irrigation systems as neededAssist with inventory and application of pesticides and fertilizersQualifications:A 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management or a related fieldAt least 2-3 years of experience in golf course maintenanceStrong leadership and supervisory skillsAbility to identify and manage turf diseases, pests, and other issues.Excellent communication skillsAbility to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidaysDriver's License and PA Pesticide Applicator's License or the ability to obtain one within six monthsSelf-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasksBenefits:Health, dental, vision and life insurance available.Retirement plan (401k) with employer match after 6 months of employment.Vacation, holiday and sick time provided.National and local dues provided.Uniforms provided.Lunches provided on weekdays.Golfing privileges.About Kennett Square Golf & Country ClubKennett Square Golf and Country Club (KSGCC) is an 18-hole facility located in the beautiful rolling farmlands of southern Chester County.

The original 9-holes, built in 1922, was designed by renowned architect Donald Ross. A full bunker renovation project was completed in March 2022. Numerous future projects are in the works including new irrigation, regrassing, and green and tee renovations. KSGCC is a leader in environmental stewardship. A stream restoration project was completed in 2012 on the section of the East Branch of the Red Clay Creek that runs through the golf course.

The property consists of numerous natural areas including; riparian buffers, pollinator meadows, rain gardens, and 4 bee hives.
