About the Role
Our client, a prestigious golf resort management group, is seeking an exceptionally skilled and passionate Senior Golf Course Superintendent to lead their groundskeeping operations. This fully remote role involves providing high-level strategic oversight, operational guidance, and expert agronomic advice for multiple world-class golf courses. You will be instrumental in ensuring immaculate playing conditions, sustainable turf management practices, and an unparalleled guest experience.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans for turfgrass management, including fertilization, irrigation, pest, and disease control programs. Oversee the daily operations of multiple golf course maintenance teams, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality and efficiency. Manage the maintenance budget effectively, controlling costs while optimizing resource allocation for turf health and playability. Lead and mentor course maintenance staff, providing training, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and implement sustainable practices for water conservation and chemical use. Collaborate with club management, golf professionals, and other departments to support events and maintain course aesthetics. Conduct regular course inspections, identifying potential issues and proactively implementing solutions to maintain championship-level playing conditions. Stay current with the latest advancements in turfgrass science, equipment technology, and best management practices. Oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment, ensuring optimal functionality. Contribute to the strategic planning and long-term vision for golf course operations. Qualifications:
Degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Turfgrass Management, or a related field from an accredited institution. Advanced certifications (e.g., GCSAA Class A) are highly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 5 years in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role overseeing complex operations. Proven expertise in warm-season turfgrass management and advanced irrigation systems. Strong knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and sustainable agronomic practices. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse crews. Excellent budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation skills. Proficiency in using modern golf course management software and technologies. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Passion for golf and commitment to excellence in course conditioning.
