PART-TIME GOLF COURSE GROUNDSKEEPER II

Purpose of Job
The purpose of this classification is to participate in the duties performed by work crews involved in Golf Course maintenance. This is a safety sensitive position subject to a drug screen.
Essential Functions
The PT Golf Course Groundskeeper II is responsible for the following essential functions:
Maintains Golf Course using various types of motor equipment.
Removes trees, bushes, shrubs, stumps, rocks, and other items using various types of equipment. Restores posts, fences, and gates using various types of equipment. Performs preventive maintenance and repair work on equipment and reports mechanical problems to the Crew Leader.
• Mows and maintains grass and fields using lawnmowers, tractors, weed eaters, and other equipment.
• Disperses various types of sprays, pesticides, and other chemicals to control harmful insects and pests. Removes leaves, trash, and other items to maintain neat, clean environment, using leaf blower. Performs general custodial duties as necessary.
• Respond to and report immediately if called upon by local, regional, or central office supervisors, as part of a coordinated emergency response by the Knox County Mayor’s Office
• Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours. Perform other duties as required
Minimum Training & Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED required: Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of one years’ experience in building and grounds maintenance
• Must possess and maintain a valid TN Drivers License Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered for employment into the position.

• Ability to focus and demonstrate great attention to detail.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
• Ability to effectively communicate with others. Requires the ability to read a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, and methods and procedures in building and grounds maintenance.
• Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines, tools, and equipment to include tractors, bush hogs, lawn mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, blowers, concrete mixers, hand-tools, etc.
Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. Must be able to wear personal protection equipment (PPE). Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for active work.
Occupational Hazards
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, cold, and hot weather conditions including precipitation.
Exposure to sunlight for extended periods of time
