Position Summary
Palmetto Hall Golf & Country Club is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 2nd Assistant Superintendent / Spray Technician to support the daily maintenance and management of our championship golf courses. This position plays a critical role in turf health management, pesticide and fertilizer applications, irrigation oversight, and staff leadership.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.Maintain accurate application records and chemical inventory.Monitor turf conditions and identify disease, insect, weed, and environmental stress issues.Assist in developing and implementing agronomic programs.Supervise and train maintenance staff as assigned.Assist with irrigation system troubleshooting, repairs, and water management practices.Participate in daily course setup and maintenance activities.Ensure compliance with all safety standards and environmental regulations.Assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent with scheduling and operational planning.Support tournament preparation and special events.Qualifications
Previous golf course maintenance experience required.South Carolina pesticide applicator license preferred or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.Knowledge of turfgrass management practices and chemical applications.Experience operating golf course maintenance equipment.Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
