Position Overview
Barrington Golf Club is seeking a professional, service-oriented Locker Room Manager to oversee the Men’s locker room facilities. As a Jack Nicklaus Signature facility, our members expect a "Platinum Standard" of service. The Locker Room Manager serves as a concierge, hospitality lead, ensuring the locker room remains a premier sanctuary for our members and their guests.
Key Responsibilities
• Member Service & Hospitality
• Provide a warm, personalized greeting to all members and guests, utilizing names and anticipating individual preferences.
• Act as a club concierge, providing information on daily club events, tournament schedules, and course conditions.
• Oversee the "Shoe Service" program, including cleaning, polishing, and spike replacement for golf and street shoes.
• Manage the locker room lounge, ensuring refreshments, snacks, and beverage services are stocked and presented according to club standards.
• Facilities & Operations
• Maintain a pristine environment in all locker room areas, including vanities, showers, steam rooms, and lounge areas.
• Manage the assignment of permanent lockers for members and the preparation of guest lockers.
• Conduct regular inventory of towels, high-end toiletries, and supplies; place orders to ensure seamless operation.
• Coordinate with the maintenance and housekeeping departments to ensure all equipment is in perfect working order.
• Leadership & Administration
• Supervise, train, and schedule locker room attendants to ensure consistent service levels.
• Maintain a detailed log of member requests and feedback to continuously improve the department.
• Manage, maintain, and purchase locker room supplies.
Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in high-end hospitality, private club service, or luxury resort management.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with golf culture and etiquette is highly preferred.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs (e.g., laundry bags or beverage crates).
