Job Summary: The Greenskeeper is responsible for the daily maintenance and care of the golf course grounds, including turf, bunkers, greens, and landscaping. This role plays a critical part in preserving the playability, appearance, and overall quality of the course to ensure an exceptional guest experience for golfers.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Perform routine maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and rough areas using mowers, trimmers, and hand toolsWater turf and landscaped areas as directed, operating irrigation systems and hoses to maintain proper course conditionsRake bunkers, repair ball marks, and replace divots to maintain course aesthetics and playabilityAssist in the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf treatments under supervision and in accordance with safety guidelinesOperate utility vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently to transport tools and materialsFollow all safety and operational procedures when using tools, machinery, and chemicalsAssist with course setup including hole placements, tee markers, and signage based on daily schedulesPerform general landscaping duties such as trimming, pruning, weeding, and debris removalMonitor course conditions and promptly report any issues with turf, irrigation, or hazards to supervisorsSupport special projects such as aeration, overseeding, or storm cleanup as neededReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping preferredBasic understanding of turf care, mowing patterns, and safe equipment operationAbility to follow instructions, work independently, and complete tasks with attention to detailWillingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including early morningsDependable, team-oriented, and physically capable of manual labor for extended periodsMust be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and operate landscaping tools and machineryValid driver's license may be required depending on locationWork Environment:
Work is performed almost entirely outdoors, in all weather conditions, including heat, rain, and coldFrequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting required throughout the shiftExposure to chemicals, fertilizers, noise equipment, and moving mechanical partsEarly morning schedule required, with occasional weekend and holiday shifts based on course needsOther Duties:
