Apply NowAlready have an account? Log in first Director of Golf Country Club in Phoenix, Maryland is looking for a Director of Golf. Position Overview: This position is responsible for the monitoring and overseeing of the entire golf operation at the club including golf shop, golf range, golf service areas and golf cart operation. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Oversee the management and performance of all golf shop and outside service department operations and services. 2. Hire, train, schedule and supervise pro shop personnel including head golf professionals, assistant professionals and staff. 3. Prepares annual budget for golf operations and strives to achieve sales targets. Establishes sales goals and forecasts for all golf programs and services. Plans, forecasts, monitors performance and makes necessary corrections. 4. Arranges and holds regular staff meetings focused on member customer experience, operations revenue growth, cost containment and continuous improvement. 5. Oversees and enforces golf shop operation policies and procedures to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory, and resources. 6. Complies with the terms of purchasing agreements and vendor contracts. 7. Gives quality golf lessons to include individual and group lessons. 8. Works with members and guests; assists them with their golfing needs; handles their requests, complaints and inquires with composure and in a timely professional manner. 9. Develops programs to promote the interest in the sport of golf and the use of the course. 10. Plans, organizes and conducts golf tournaments for members and outside organizations. 11. Coordinate plans with all department managers to provide the best customer experience. 12. Manages the golf associations/leagues for the course. 13. Maintains accurate records of green fees and cart rentals. 14. Ensures the golf cart fleet is well maintained and cleaned on a daily basis. 15. Manages, maintains, and makes recommendations for merchandise appropriate to the facility demographic. 16. Completes high quality custom fitting and club repairs to customer satisfaction. 17. Gathers, processes and submits payroll information for the golf department timely and accurately; maintains employee files and records. 18. Devotes a reasonable amount of time to play golf with members of all skill levels. 19. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround time, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service. 20. Maintains the confidentiality of company, employee and member/guest information. 21. Attends and actively participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings. 22. Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the club and the Company by being service- and solution-oriented, having positive interactions with all club staff and members/guests, and meeting established quality, service and safety expectations. 23. Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers. Requirements: High School diploma, GED or equivalent. A member of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) or the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). 3 years experience as either a Head Golf Professional or the first assistant to a Head Golf Professional. Has knowledge of the organization and management of a pro shop. Understands the rules of golf, the equipment used and golf tournament organization. Has knowledge of practice facility operation and management. Effective communication skills orally and in writing. Able to provide a high level of customer service with attention to detail. Strong organizational, planning an prioritization skills. Proficient with common MS Office computer programs and experience with POS systems. Compensation: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year.
