About the Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Golf Course Equipment Mechanic to join our agronomy team. This position will work closely under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent to oversee daily maintenance and long-term conditioning of golf course equipment. The Golf Course Equipment Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that all machinery is safe, dependable, and operates at peak performance to support high-quality course conditions. As well as assisting with day-to-day operations on the golf course.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain, diagnose, and repair golf course maintenance equipment, including but not limited to:
o Reel and rotary mowers.
o Tractors and utility vehicles
o Sprayers and spreaders
o Aerifiers, topdressers, and specialty equipment
· Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
· Set up and adjust cutting units to meet course specifications.
· Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and parts inventory records.
· Order parts, tools, and supplies while controlling costs.
· Train maintenance staff on proper equipment operation and basic care
· Ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA regulations.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility.
· Assist in evaluating equipment needs and making purchase recommendations.
· Cutting greens, tees, fairways, and any other areas on the course with mowers.
· Assist with driveway plowing, home inspections, firewood deliveries during winter months.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to perform in a shop and outdoor environments; exposure to noise, fumes, and weather.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operation of golf course equipment.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience repairing turf equipment or similar machinery preferred.
· Strong knowledge of small engines, diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
· Experience with reel grinding and mower setup preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
