The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at Echo Lake Country Club plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of hospitality, dining room appearance, and service excellence within the Clubhouse environment. Reporting directly to the Dining Room Manager, this full-time position offers a salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 based on experience and qualifications. The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing staff recruitment, training, coaching, and development to build and maintain a high-performing team. They also ensure that the dining room remains spotless, organized, and visually appealing at all times, supporting the overall Member experience and satisfaction.
This role encompasses leadership in daily dining room operations, including monitoring reservations, greeting and seating Members and their guests, and managing service flow with an "all-hands" approach where necessary. The Assistant Manager supports and actively participates in Clubhouse events and banquets by assisting with planning, setup, execution, and coordination with the Member and Events Concierge. This ensures events meet the Club’s high standards and provide exceptional experiences for all attendees.
Beyond operational duties, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager engages in administrative tasks such as managing staff schedules to optimize labor costs, handling point-of-sale (POS) system issues, conducting inventories, compiling reports, and assuming closing manager responsibilities as assigned. They also commit to ongoing professional development through training in hospitality trends, wine, spirits, and other relevant industry knowledge.
Long-term goals for this role include building strong, memorable relationships with Club Members, implementing training guides for seasonal operations such as the Pool and Kyle House, overseeing beverage programming including stock control and menu development, and sustaining operational and service excellence across all member-facing areas. This position demands a proactive individual dedicated to leading by example, enhancing team performance, and fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere that aligns with the Club’s prestigious reputation.
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years management experience in food and beverage or related hospitality roles
Proven ability to lead and develop a team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage staffing schedules and labor costs
Proficiency with POS systems
Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 35 lbs
