Assistant in Training

The Assistant in Training  will develop the skills and knowledge to assist in the management of all golf course maintenance responsibilities through a combination of training and hands on experience. This position will develop management skills to provide leadership to the team in the Superintendent’s absence. Strive to model the Pursell Farms core values in the completion of their work ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: - Perform or assist with all chemical and fertilizer applications made on property along with calibration of all equipment used. - Assist with repair of Toro E-Osmac Irrigation System with Lynx Controls - oversee and manage any assigned special projects - monitor VWC readings in Greens, Tee’s, Fairways, - Assist the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Superintendents with planning of all agronomic practices in a weekly, monthly and annual basis. Education: - A degree or certificate in Agronomy and Soils or related field Skills and Abilities: - At least one internship of golf course maintenance experience preferred including experience with pesticides/fertilizer usage and alternative methods of plant health management - Self- starter with positive attitude and willingness to assume responsibility and be a team leader - Willingness to support the Pursell Farm Service Standards
