About the Role
<p>The Cosumnes Community Services District ("District") Parks and Recreation Department invites qualified and enthusiastic candidates to apply for the <strong>Golf Professional</strong><strong> position </strong>within the<strong> Park & Golf</strong><strong> Operations Division. </strong>This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality recreation programs that enrich the lives of youth and the community. </p>

<p><strong>Position Description:<br /></strong>Under general supervision, plans, organizes, and supervises the golf shop operations, special events, private and group lessons, leagues and clubs for the golf course.</p>
The golf course is open seven days a week, year round. Candidates must be willing to work holidays, weekends, and evenings. The golf course is open as early as 5 a.m. and closes as late as 10 p.m.<br /><br /><strong>Salary Information:</strong><br />The Recreation Coordinator's salary range is between <strong>$30.74 - $43.25</strong> per hour. The District typically appoints new employees at step 1 of the salary range. Consideration for an appointment higher than step 1 will be based on experience, education, or the need for unique skills or knowledge, and shall be no more than the midpoint of the salary range.

<h2>Duties and Responsibilities</h2>
<p><em>The following duties are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. <ul>
<li>Develops, plans, promotes, implements, schedules and evaluates pro shop operations, special events, private and group lessons, leagues and clubs at golf course;</li>
<li>Assigns, schedules, and reviews the work of lower level workers; ensures department standards for safety, facility and golf course and golf shop operations are met;</li>
<li>Provides courteous and professional service to all program participants, facility users, CSD personnel and the public; ensures staff provides a high degree of service to both internal and external customers;</li>
<li>Acts as a liaison to the public; answers questions and handles customer complaints; directs lower level workers in on-site communication with parents, participants and the public; discusses program concerns and participation issues; provides solutions when appropriate;</li>
<li>Enforces rules and regulations of programs and facilities as mandated by CSD policies;</li>
<li>Conducts work tasks safely and in compliance with Department safety standards and the CSD Injury and Illness Prevention Program;</li>
<li>Purchases supplies in accordance with District purchasing policies; assists manager with approval and processing of bills and payments for services, materials and supplies;</li>
<li>Completes and maintains reports and forms as necessary;</li>
<li>Recommends and provides feedback to supervisory staff regarding hiring, training, evaluation, discipline and salary of lower level workers;</li>
<li>Required to work a variety of shifts including, but not limited to weekends, holidays and after hour emergency calls;</li>
<li>Assists in creating and developing marketing strategies;</li>
<li>Assists Golf Course Manager in preparing budget, daily deposits and timesheets; may collect and review timesheets of lower level workers;</li>
<li>May plan and conduct staff meetings and participate in program planning and preparation;</li>
<li>May recruit, select, train, schedule and provide day to day lead direction to volunteers of the golf course.</li>
