Picturesque 103 year-old 9-hole course overlooking downtown Hollidaysburg.
Position SummaryThe Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and management of the golf course. This includes supervision of turf, equipment, and personnel to ensure optimal playability and appearance of the course.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee mowing, watering, and maintenance of tees, greens, fairways, and related areas.Manage turf planting, fertilization, and ongoing care.Supervise operation and maintenance of equipment repair facilities.Procure supplies and materials within budgetary guidelines.Maintain accurate records of annual maintenance activities.Prepare staffing and cost estimates for the department's annual budget.Apply expert knowledge of golf course construction and maintenance practices.Ensure proper turf health using correct planting, pruning, and care methods for all flora.Utilize fertilizers, soil conditioners, herbicides, and pest control products appropriately.Manage irrigation systems, including wells, pumps, and automatic controls.Maintain course features to standards consistent with excellent golf course play.Plan, assign, and supervise maintenance personnel.Generate clear and concise reports and budget projections.Hire, orient, and train maintenance department staff.Foster strong employee and public relations.Maintain working knowledge of the game of golfWilling to pursue certification in turf managementBenefits and Culture
