About the Role
Our client, a prestigious golf club, is seeking an experienced and charismatic Head Golf Professional to manage all golf operations and enhance the member and guest experience in **Columbus, Ohio, US**. This leadership role requires a deep passion for golf, exceptional customer service skills, and a proven ability to manage staff, programs, and facilities effectively. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in fostering a vibrant golf community and ensuring the highest standards of service and play.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all aspects of the golf operations, including the pro shop, driving range, and practice facilities. Develop, implement, and promote a comprehensive schedule of golf events, tournaments, clinics, and player development programs for all skill levels. Provide high-quality golf instruction, including individual lessons, group clinics, and junior programs, to members and guests. Manage and mentor the golf operations team, including assistant professionals, starters, marshals, and retail staff, ensuring excellent service delivery. Manage golf shop inventory, merchandising, and purchasing, optimizing profitability and member satisfaction. Maintain strong relationships with members, guests, and staff, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Ensure the efficient operation of the tee sheet and manage player flow on the course. Collaborate with the golf course superintendent to ensure optimal course conditions and playability. Manage the club's golf handicap system and ensure adherence to official rules of golf. Promote the club's golf facilities and programs to attract new members and retain existing ones. Oversee the budget for golf operations, ensuring financial goals are met. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, representing the club with integrity and enthusiasm. Qualifications: PGA/LPGA certified or equivalent professional golf qualification is required. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in golf operations management, preferably in a Head Professional or Director of Golf role. Proven track record of success in developing and implementing golf programs and services. Exceptional teaching and coaching skills with a passion for player development. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in retail management, inventory control, and merchandising. Proficiency in golf management software (e.g., Jonas, Golf Genius, ForeTees). Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and staff effectively. A strong understanding of golf rules, etiquette, and course management principles. Customer-service oriented with a commitment to delivering outstanding experiences.
