Golf Course Assistant Mechanic

About the position The Governors Club is a private 18 hole facility located in Brentwood Tennessee, we are currently looking for dependable, reliable team players who take pride in what they do. Golf Course experience preferred but not necessary. This position is expected to assist with the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all pieces of turf management equipment to the highest degree of dependability and performance, with the emphasis on precise quality of cut. Responsibilities Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis.Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy duty and light duty mowing equipment.Keeps maintenance equipment fueled, oiled and inspected; and performs related tasks as required.Assists with the appropriate scheduling of preventative maintenance, and prioritized repairsTroubleshoots all equipmentMaintains a clean, well-organized shop with safety as the highest of prioritiesAssists with golf course special projectsMaintains a strong knowledge of emergency proceduresLearns to operate all pieces of equipmentInteracts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessaryCommunicates all pertinent information to the golf maintenance teamMaintains a professional appearanceRemains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all timesGeneral golf course day to day maintenance ie, bunker raking, course setup, mowing, string trimming, etc.Requirements Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driving standardsMust have a strong technical gasoline and diesel engine backgroundExcellent equipment operation skillsMust have excellent mechanical understanding and abilityMust be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbal and writtenAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidaysWhile primarily an indoor job, must also be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, cold, sun & heat)Driver's License (Required)Nice-to-haves Golf Course experience preferred but not necessary.Two years’ experience in a similar position preferredHigh school or equivalent (Preferred)Benefits 401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offSick timeVision insurance
