What You’ll Do
As our Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our course is maintained to the highest standards. This hands-on, supervisory position is perfect for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys leading a team. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
Assist the Golf Superintendent with daily course maintenance operations, including turf care, crew scheduling, and task execution.
Supervise and lead maintenance personnel, ensuring productivity, quality standards, and safe work practices are upheld.
Implement agronomic programs such as mowing, irrigation, fertilization, aeration, pest control, and cultural practices.
Monitor course conditions and provide recommendations to maintain optimal turf health and playability.
Operate, troubleshoot, and assist with irrigation system repairs.
Oversee equipment use, cleaning, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental standards.
Manage inventory for chemicals, supplies, and materials while adhering to regulations.
Help prepare for tournaments, special events, weather impacts, and seasonal demands.
Step in to lead the facility in the Superintendent's absence.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a mix of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for the game. Here’s what we’re looking for:
At least 1 year of experience as a golf course Assistant Superintendent.
Strong knowledge of turfgrass species, agronomic practices, irrigation systems, and golf course equipment.
Proven ability to lead and communicate effectively with maintenance crews.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate maintenance vehicles and equipment safely.
