Facilities Manager

Facilities Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: General Manager / Chief Operating Officer About the Position Old Waverly Club is seeking an experienced and dependable Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, operation, safety, and overall condition of the Club’s facilities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our members, guests, and staff enjoy a safe, attractive, comfortable, and well-maintained environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience managing building systems, maintenance operations, and vendors. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily maintenance and operation of Club facilities, including buildings, mechanical systems, utilities, parking areas, and common spaces. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to protect Club assets and reduce unexpected repairs. Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate facilities staff. Coordinate with outside contractors, service providers, and vendors to ensure quality work and competitive pricing. Monitor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, pool, lighting, security, and other facility systems. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, warranties, equipment, and service contracts. Ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular facility inspections and promptly address maintenance, safety, and appearance concerns. Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate appropriate repairs or services. Work closely with the General Manager, department heads, grounds team, housekeeping, food and beverage, golf operations, and other Club departments. Maintain a professional and service-oriented environment consistent with the standards and expectations of a private country club. Assist in special events and Club activities when facilities support or additional operational oversight is required. Perform other duties as assigned by Club leadership. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in facilities management, building maintenance, property operations, hospitality, country clubs, resorts, or a related field. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and preventive maintenance. Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, maintenance documentation, plans, and specifications. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively manage contractors, vendors, and employees. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred. Valid driver's license required. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects and maintenance needs. Physical Requirements & Schedule This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, climbing stairs or ladders, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The Facilities Manager must be able to respond to occasional after-hours emergencies. The position may require evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours based on Club operations and special events.
