About the Role

GOLF PERFORMANCE COACH (FITNESS) Peak Golf Institute Location: Rockville, MD (home base), with on-site work at our Ashburn, VA and Arlington, VA (The Golf Yards) locations on an as-needed basis. Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week. Evenings and weekends required. Starting salary: $50,000 – $65,000, based on experience ABOUT PEAK GOLF INSTITUTE Since 2009, Peak Golf Institute has helped golfers — juniors, competitive amateurs, college players and tour professionals — play better by treating the body and the swing as one system. Every client starts with an evaluation built on 3D motion capture, force-plate data and physical screening, and every program is built from that data. Our coaches don't guess; they measure, program, deliver and re-test. THE ROLE At PGI we train and teach as a team. Every PGI member and client works from a plan built on their evaluation — 3D motion capture, force-plate data and a physical screen that show what's limiting their golf. You report to the head of PGI's fitness department and work alongside our fitness coaches, golf coaches and evaluators so the body and the swing are trained in the same direction. What you're responsible for: Training PGI members and clients. You'll coach adults and juniors one-on-one and in small groups, as part of a team that shares the work.Editing and advancing programming. The client's plan provides the oversight for their programming. Working within it, you are responsible for editing and progressing each client's program as they improve.Testing to the PGI standard. You test clients to PGI standards when updating their programming and progressing them through their plan. The results decide when a client moves forward.Junior athletes. Juniors are a major part of this role. You'll lead small group classes and train juniors individually — you need to enjoy working with young athletes. How you start: Your first 8 weeks are PGI's paid onboarding program: four weeks of study and shadowing, then four weeks working with clients alongside a PGI coach, with support stepping back as you're ready. At the end of week eight you are assessed for PGI's Certified Performance Coach (CPC) credential — an internal certification earned only as a PGI employee. What else the job includes: Coach logs after every session, client booking and check-in in Mindbody, and opening or closing the facility on a rotating basis.
