About the RoleThe Golf Course Maintenance Assistant in Training supports the golf course maintenance team in the daily upkeep and presentation of the golf course and club grounds. This entry-level position is designed for individuals interested in learning the fundamentals of golf course operations, turfgrass management, landscape maintenance, and equipment operation while working in a team-oriented outdoor environment. Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist with mowing greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and surrounding turf areasPerform bunker maintenance including raking, edging, and debris removalOperate hand tools and basic maintenance equipment safely and efficientlyAssist with irrigation checks, watering, and minor repairsHelp with landscape maintenance including trimming, planting, mulching, and weed controlRemove debris, leaves, and trash from the golf course and club groundsSet up and break down golf course accessories including tee markers, ropes, and signageAssist with fertilizer and chemical applications under supervisionFollow all golf course safety procedures and operational standardsSupport special projects and tournament preparations as assignedMaintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all timesQualificationsHigh school student, recent graduate, or individual interested in golf course maintenanceAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsWillingness to learn golf course maintenance practices and equipment operationStrong work ethic and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamReliable transportation preferredGolf knowledge is helpful but not requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as neededAbility to safely operate maintenance tools and equipmentPreferred SkillsInterest in turfgrass management, landscaping, or golf operationsBasic mechanical aptitudePositive attitude and strong communication skills Opportunities for GrowthThis position provides hands-on training and exposure to golf course maintenance operations and may lead to advancement opportunities within the maintenance department or the golf industry.
