Golf Shop Merchandise Associate The Transit Valley Golf Shop is currently seeking an individual for the Golf Shop Merchandise Associate position. This position could be ideal for a student looking to gain hands-on experience as they advance their educational learning and career opportunities. The position will be 30-35 hours/week in the spring and fall and 40 hours/week in the summer (May-August) with opportunity for overtime paid at time and a half. If you are looking for a seasonal job (May-August) still apply as this role can be flexible. Key Responsibilities: • Create visually appealing and practical merchandise displays for Men, Women, Juniors, and accessories • Engage with members and key customers to gain insights on consumer trends and preferences • Develop working relationships with main vendors to gain further insights into products and companies as well as growing one’s professional network • Serve as a brand/club ambassador at all times in terms of appearance, attitude, and professionalism • Execute sales transactions using the golf shop’s POS Software which includes member account charges, credit cards, checks, and cash • Utilize social media to promote merchandise and events • Place special orders for non-stock merchandise utilizing a detailed process to ensure accuracy • Receive merchandise into inventory software utilizing a step-by-step process • Assist in the formation of buying plans for all categories • Monitor inventory levels and identify fast or slow selling merchandise items • Open or close the golf shop and be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays • Knowledge of golf is not required but a willingness to gain a basic understanding will go a long way <ul> <li>Opening and or closing golf shop.</li> <li>Day to day tee times and phone calls.</li> </ul> Key Traits: • Hardworking • Friendly • Organized • Trustworthy • Motivated • Creative • Adaptive • Team Player • Strong Customer Service Skills Benefits: • Flexible scheduling • Meals while working • Staff apparel provided by the club and select vendors • Employee golf on Mondays with some guest privileges • Holiday Bonus Eligibility • Event gratuities • Staff appreciation events • Employee discount • Develop professional relationships with business and civic leaders • Possible internship credit if desired Interested.
