About the Role
OVERVIEW
Under limited supervision, services and repairs golf course equipment, changes fluids, air filters and hydraulics to maintain standard operations.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Inspects, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs various golf course maintenance equipment (i.e. mowers/tractors, rollers, etc.)Communicates and prioritizes needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment to supervisor Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipmentAbility to grind reels and set appropriate toleranceMaintains preventative maintenance schedule (i.e. oil, grease, air, gas, etc.)Assists in parts inventory and maintain a clean and organized workshop; orders supplies and parts as neededPrepares routine reports and records of maintenance equipment as requiredOperates variety of equipment (i.e. hand and power tools, golf carts, backhoe, tractor/mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, spray equipment, sod cutters, dump truck, turf maintenance equipment, mechanic's tools, plumbing tools, electrician's tools, welding tools, torches, etc.) Cleans equipment and vehicles as necessaryMaintains a clean and safe work environmentOther duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Working knowledge of the general operation of golf course equipmentKnowledge of preventative maintenance for all golf course equipmentRequires a mechanical ability; ability to use common mechanical toolsAbility to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidaysAbility to maintain effective working relationships; excellent customer service skillsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by three years’ experience in mechanical maintenance and repair work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Vocational diploma in mechanics preferred.Valid SC Driver’s license Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training; will trainREPORTING TO THIS POSITION

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to frequently stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. Exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
