About the Role
The Hartford Golf Club is looking for a friendly and self-motivated individual to join our grounds team. Founded in 1896, we are a private country club located in central Connecticut known for our rich tradition of sports, fine dining, and family-focused activities. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will play a key role in maintaining the impeccable 256-acre grounds, including a 27-hole golf course designed by Donald Ross. Our positive work culture emphasizes a work hard/play hard mentality and promotes a healthy work-life balance.
The ideal candidate will have a 2 or 4-year degree in Turf Management or a related field and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. You must possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain the necessary state certifications within specific timeframes. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented team player who takes pride in their work, has a strong sense of ownership, and is willing to go above and beyond when needed.
Responsibilities include assisting in the maintenance of the golf course, managing personnel, overseeing irrigation systems, applying chemicals and fertilizers, and coordinating improvement projects. You will work closely with the Superintendent and other team members to ensure the highest quality turf and playing conditions for our members and guests.
