We’re seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Golf Professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest service and supporting daily golf operations. This seasonal role is perfect for someone who loves the game, enjoys working with members and guests, and thrives in a premier golf environment. The Assistant Golf Professional assists in managing and directing all golf related activities including collection of fees, player assistants, starting times, pace of play, group and individual tee times, maintenance and cleaning of carts, tournaments, teaching, driving range and selling of golf equipment and merchandise. The Assistant Professional will maintain the AAA Four Diamond standards. The Assistant Professional will always conduct themselves in manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Commitment, and Open and Honest Communication. They shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times and for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
Responsibilities
Assists the Head Professional in handling “Guest Service”.Supervision of Starters and Player Assistants. Insuring that they are following and meeting their job expectations.Insuring proper collection of fees, golf, accounting practices and daily record keeping.Assists the Head Professional with interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling staff.Conduct evaluations of all permanent and seasonal employees.Assure that all employees attend orientation and staff meetings.Assist with merchandise, display, and cleanness of shop on a daily basis.Works with group coordinators on a group and tournament golf to provide all necessary services, supplies, equipment and information.Coordinate with Concessions Manager on food and beverage functions with day-to-day orientation and staff meetings.Follows the budget and keep an accurate account of cash, charges and daily reports, as well as conducting weekly check on inventory levels.Track all statistical information as required for future reference.Responsible for enforcing company golf course policies and procedures including pace of play, dress code, number of players, no coolers, no non-golfing children under 10, etc.Cooperates with golf course superintendent regarding condition and schedule of play on golf course.Instills a calm, organized approach in all stressful situationsAttends appropriate resort, division and department meetingsConducts staff meetings as neededMaintains a strong knowledge of golf maintenance trendsAssists with the coaching and counseling of golf teamOffers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name when possible & good eye contact with each guestInteracts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessaryAlways maintains a professional demeanor and attitudeCommunicates all pertinent information to the golf maintenance team vents.Requirements
High school education or equivalent requiredStrong knowledge of the USGA golf rules requiredAt least one-year supervisory experience requiredMust have a valid Oregon drivers license and meet company driving standardsMust have strong computer skillsMust have excellent leadership skillsMust have thorough understanding of the game of golf so as to understand the playability of the courseMust have exceptional detail in follow-upMust be able to work well under pressureMust be able to effective teach and train staffAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidaysMust be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, cold, sun & heat);Must be able to stand & walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces;Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 40lbs and very occasionally up to 60 lbs with assistance;
