Knollwood Country Club, part of the Heritage Golf Group portfolio, is seeking an enthusiastic, relationship-driven, and hospitality-focused Member Relations Director to lead member engagement initiatives and elevate the overall club experience. This highly visible position serves as a key ambassador of the club, fostering meaningful relationships, creating memorable experiences, and ensuring members feel welcomed, connected, and valued throughout their membership journey.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional service while building a strong sense of community. This individual will work closely with all club departments to enhance member satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
Position Summary
The Member Relations Director is responsible for developing and executing member engagement strategies, coordinating club events and programming, overseeing member communications, and supporting membership growth and retention efforts. This role serves as a primary point of contact for members and plays a critical role in creating an exceptional private club experience.
Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement & Retention
Serve as a visible and welcoming presence throughout the club, building strong relationships with members and guests.Foster member satisfaction through proactive communication, engagement, and service recovery when appropriate.Develop and implement initiatives that increase member participation, satisfaction, and retention.Conduct regular member outreach and gather feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Assist with prospective member tours and introductions to support membership growth.New Member Integration
Lead the onboarding and orientation process for new members.Coordinate welcome programs and events that encourage early engagement.Facilitate introductions and connections between new and existing members to strengthen community involvement.Serve as an ongoing resource for new members as they become familiar with club offerings and amenities.Events & Club Programming
Plan, coordinate, and execute member social events, family activities, holiday celebrations, and club programming.Collaborate with Golf, Food & Beverage, Racquet Sports, Aquatics, and other departments to create exceptional member experiences.Manage event promotion, registration, communications, and follow-up.Evaluate participation levels and member feedback to continuously enhance programming.Member Communications
Oversee member communications including newsletters, email campaigns, event promotions, and club announcements.Ensure communications are timely, engaging, and reflective of the club's culture and brand.Maintain event calendars and member-facing communication platforms.Assist with website and social media content related to membership activities and club events.Membership Administration
Maintain accurate membership records and databases.Track member engagement, participation, and retention metrics.Prepare reports related to membership activity and event participation.Assist with membership documentation and administrative processes as needed.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in membership services, hospitality, event management, customer service, private clubs, or a related field.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Demonstrated experience planning and executing successful events and member programs.Professional, positive, and service-oriented approach.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and membership management software.Private club, hospitality, luxury service, or resort experience preferred.
