Job Title: PM Line Chef
Job Description:
Rumson Country Club is seeking a well-rounded PM Line Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining proper food rotation, and managing their own station during service. This role requires creativity, teamwork, and a strong attention to detail. Candidates will also have the opportunity to contribute to weekly specials and assist with club events and functions.
Additional skills—such as experience with raw bar setup, garde manger, or crafting sauces and dressings—are highly valued and will be considered when determining compensation.
Schedule:
Typical schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Once fully trained and comfortable, flexibility in scheduling may be available. Overtime opportunities are offered during special events and golf outings.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to club standards
Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station for service
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and rotation (FIFO)
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and work areas
Assist in developing and executing daily and weekly specials
Support banquet functions, events, and golf outings as needed
Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely and high-quality service
Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to leadership
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when necessary
Qualifications:
Previous line cook or chef experience preferred
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Compensation & Benefits:
$24.00-$32.00 P/H DOE
