About the Role
Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty, playability, and overall health of our premier golf course. This energetic position offers the opportunity to develop your leadership skills while working closely with the Superintendent to oversee daily course maintenance operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring that the course meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental stewardship, creating an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
Duties
• Assist in managing daily golf maintenance activities, including mowing, bunker detail, course set up, irrigation, drainage, and pest control to keep the course in top condition.
• Support irrigation system operation and troubleshooting to ensure optimal turf health and water efficiency.
• Supervise and coordinate landscaping projects, including construction, tree care, and renovation efforts, ensuring timely and quality completion.
• Oversee daily golf course operations such as fertilzer and pesticide applications, cultural practices, employee supervision, soil moisture management, and all details related to the golf course.
• Lead gardening and horticulture initiatives by planting, pruning, mulching, and maintaining flower beds and landscape features.
• Supervise staff involved in landscape maintenance tasks, providing guidance on best practices in landscaping, turf care, and equipment operation.
• Conduct regular inspections of the course grounds to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
Requirements
• Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping, or golf course groundskeeping with a focus on turf management.
• Demonstrated supervising experience with the ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, irrigation systems, horticulture practices, and general maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with construction projects related to course improvements or renovations.
• Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to motivate team members and coordinate tasks efficiently.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment or materials and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
