Building Maintenance/ Houseman/ Housekeeping

About the position

This full-time position combines daily custodial work, room setups, and minor facility repairs to help keep the property safe, clean, and operational. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and may include some holidays and weekends.

Duties include cleaning and maintaining public and staff areas, performing routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs, inspecting the property, coordinating with contractors, and documenting work and inventory. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in commercial cleaning, custodial work, or general building maintenance trades.

Responsibilities

Clean, sanitize, and maintain public areas, offices, hallways, restrooms, and breakrooms.Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and buff hard-surface floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.Dust furniture, high-reach vents, fixtures, and interior glass and windows.Empty wastebaskets, sort recyclables, and transport trash to designated disposal areas.Replenish restroom supplies, paper products, and soap dispensers.Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on interior and exterior building infrastructure.Troubleshoot and fix basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues, such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and changing air filters.Conduct regular property inspections to identify safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or damage.Coordinate and escort inside and outside contractors or specialized service technicians when major repairs arise.Perform seasonal or exterior upkeep, including snow and ice removal, sidewalk clearing, and basic groundskeeping.Document completed work orders, safety checks, and inventory levels using facility management logs or software.Report items requiring specialized expertise to the Clubhouse Maintenance Supervisor.Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.At least 1 year of experience in commercial cleaning, custodial work, or general building maintenance trades.Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.Understanding of safe chemical handling, OSHA guidelines, and sanitation standards.Ability to communicate effectively and follow written or verbal work orders.Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb ladders for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment or materials, typically up to 25–50 lbs.Benefits
