Oakley Country Club - Executive Sous Chef

Oakley Country Club is seeking a skilled and motivated Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This position supports the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences for members and guests. The executive Sous Chef maintains high culinary standards across all food outlets and club events while ensuring efficiency, consistency, and professionalism in kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Culinary Execution: Support the Executive Chef in the execution of seasonal menus and culinary programming. Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all dining outlets and functions while maintaining high standards of preparation, flavor, and plating. Kitchen Operations: Assist with food purchasing, receiving, and inventory control. Maintain organized storage areas, proper product rotation, and coordinate prep schedules to support efficient service. Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor culinary staff including line cooks and prep cooks. Promote a positive and professional kitchen culture while ensuring clear communication within the culinary department. Food Safety & Sanitation: Enforce food safety and sanitation standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen environment in compliance with health department regulations.

Qualifications:

3 years of progressive culinary experience in a private club, hotel, or upscale restaurant Strong culinary technique and attention to detail Experience with food ordering, inventory management, and cost awareness Proven leadership and mentoring ability Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
