GENERAL SUMMARY Oversees the day-to-day maintenance operations of the assigned golf course, ensuring turf conditions, equipment and staff support the overall goals of the SLV POA golf maintenance program. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises and directs daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways and roughs, including mowing, fertilization and herbicide/insecticide programsSchedules work assignments and supervises equipment operators and other maintenance staffInstructs staff on the proper operation and care of mowing and other maintenance equipmentSupervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systemsDirects maintenance and repair of motorized and mechanical equipment; assists with equipment inventoryAssists in planning and laying out course maintenance projectsConducts regular inspections of the course and related facilities, reporting deficiencies or safety hazardsAssists with preparation and administration of the maintenance budgetAssists with hiring, training and supervising maintenance employeesMaintains a safe work environment and enforces safety and health proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned by managerThe duties and responsibilities of this position are not limited to this description and the Golf Course Assistant Superintendent may perform a combination of other functions when needed.Here's what we are looking for: Associate's degree in turfgrass and/or landscape management (or related field), and/or equivalent experience requiredMinimum two (2) years' experience as a Golf Course Manager or Assistant Superintendent at a resort or private club setting preferredWorking knowledge of turf maintenance, irrigation systems and herbicide/pesticide applicationValid driver's license with a good driving record requiredAbility to obtain a SC pesticide license within six monthsAbility to lift 50 pounds unaidedGCSAA Class A certification a plusWe offer: The ability to work in a strong, positive culture firmly grounded in a meaningful purpose.Chances to learn and grow professionally.The opportunity to work with like-minded team members you like and respect.A place you can do great things that can immediately impact thousands of stakeholders, while having a great time with others who want the same.A company that values its team members with competitive wages and benefits.We believe:All growth and improvements to community begin with attracting awesome people with unique talents to our organization who care for and love people as much as we do.With the collective talents of our team, we can make Savannah Lakes Village the best community in the Southeast.There is power and purpose when everyone works together in the support of common direction and goals.
