Position: Greenskeeper (Seasonal) Base Pay $15.5 / HourJob Category Golf Maintenance, LaborEmployee Type Non-ExemptRequired Degree High schoolManage Others NoContact informationName Billy WittDescription SUMMARYSEASONAL Green keepers perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance; do semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work; operate small hand-powered equipment; and occasionally perform work involving small scale mowing equipment. Each groundskeeper may be assigned responsibility for the care and maintenance of several designated holes on the golf course and does related work as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operates a variety of small hand held tools & equipment to perform a variety of routine manual labor related to the upkeep and maintenance of the golf course including the use of string trimmers, hedge trimmers, chain saws, sod cutters, and other hand and powered tools utilized in landscape maintenance Operates a variety of small ride-on mowing and maintenance equipmentMaintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to the Head Mechanic, Lead Mechanic and/or the Lead greenkeeperChanges cups and sets tee blocks, Rakes bunkers, maintains ball washers; replaces tee towels and flags when needed; removes debris; sands and seeds tee and drop area divots; and cleans flower beds.Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.Waters and fertilizes tees, greens and fairways, and under direct supervision of a certified applicator, sprays chemicals on landscaped areas.Marks the course for cart control weekly; moves cart control barriers and replaces worn or lost ropes and signs; and may mark hazard and drop areas.Helps in project work; assists in the construction of new greens, tees and fairways; grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; and seeds tees, greens and fairways.Installs forms and lays walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes; excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with hand tools; repairs and replaces pipe on irrigation systemsMay be trained and/or asked to operate specific mowers or other light equipment.Use PPE’s as trained and requiredReport safety or hazard concerns to managementReport job injury to Management immediatelyReport golf course conditions to Golf superintendent, Lead Greenkeeper, or Pro shopRequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
