Responsibilities
Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food production, inventory control, and quality assurance
Supervise and train kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and proper food handling practices
Ensure all food is prepared according to company standards, recipes, and health regulations
Manage shift schedules, monitor staff performance, and support team development through ongoing training and coaching
Oversee POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling
Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock, placing orders, and controlling waste to optimize food costs
Enforce food safety standards and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
Support restaurant management with budget adherence, cost control measures, and operational efficiency initiatives
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to deliver seamless customer service experiences in casual dining or quick service environments
Participate in interviewing potential team members and contribute to hiring decisions to build a strong kitchen team
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for transactions and inventory tracking
Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising staff, conducting training sessions, and managing shifts effectively
Deep understanding of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling practices
Ability to manage inventory control processes efficiently while minimizing waste and controlling costs
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating positive dining experiences
Familiarity with budgeting, food management systems, and hospitality operations such as catering or banquet services
Effective communication skills for team training, staff development, and collaboration with management
Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in a quick service or casual dining restaurant preferred
Knowledge of culinary techniques across various cuisines; experience in fine dining or hotel food service is a plus
