Position Summary
The Event Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service during weddings, private events, and holiday parties. This role is event-specific and primarily scheduled during peak season (April-October), with additional shifts available for holiday events in December. The ideal candidate is professional, personable, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced event environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, stock, and break down bar stations for weddings and private events
Prepare and serve beer, wine, and cocktails according to event menus and venue standards
Verify guest identification and comply with all state and local alcohol service laws
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar throughout the event
Provide friendly, polished, and professional guest service at all times
Communicate effectively with Banquet Captains and Event Managers during service
Monitor guest consumption and practice responsible alcohol service
Handle cash and/or point-of-sale systems accurately when applicable
Assist with end-of-event breakdown and restocking as needed
Schedule & Availability
Primarily evenings and weekends. Schedule is based on booked events and may vary week to week. Peak season runs April through October, with limited shifts available for holiday events in December.
Compensation
Hourly wage plus tips (where applicable). Opportunities for frequent shifts during peak wedding season
Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age or older
Prior bartending experience preferred; event or wedding experience a plus
Valid alcohol service certification (or willingness to obtain before first shift)
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient in high-volume situations
Reliable transportation and punctuality required
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
