Role and Responsibilities:
The role of Greenskeeper involves overseeing various tasks related to groundskeeping, with an emphasis on leadership, instruction, and interaction. You will support the daily activities of the course maintenance team and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and with high attention to detail. Your responsibilities will include:
Perform routine maintenance on all machinery and keep accurate records up to date.Provide guidance for the team on and off the golf course throughout the day.Guide and instruct new staff members in all facets of golf course upkeep.Communicate effectively with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Equipment Technicians regarding any requirements.Maintain a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail from the shop space to the golf course.Ensure that all tee markers and traffic cones are correctly positioned at all times.Clean the golf operations facility in the afternoon as a regular task.Clean equipment regularly to ensure safety and functionality.Collect litter from the entire course on a daily basis.Volunteer enthusiastically for activities at the resort.Have the flexibility to adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate the team's needs.Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership qualities and maintaining transparent communication channels with the management team.Oversee operations in the absence of higher authorities, ensuring smooth workflow and communication.Required Skills and Experience:
Understanding and expertise in implementing turf maintenance techniques specific to the upkeep of golf course landscapes.A minimum of five years of experience in maintaining golf courses or at least two years of experience coupled with a turf-related degree.Knowledge of operating golf course machinery and ensuring safety protocols are followed.At least three years of experience in grounds maintenance is required.Comprehensive knowledge of golf course maintenance procedures.Proficiency in operating all necessary equipment for course upkeep.Ability to carry items weighing up to 80 pounds.Strong collaboration skills and ability to engage with both colleagues and visitors.Ability to work in diverse environmental and physical settings.Ability to listen attentively to guidance and follow directives given by managers.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in supervising a groundskeeping team or demonstrated leadership abilities in previous roles.Fluency in English, with strong communication skills to effectively guide and instruct others.Legal work authorization in the U.S. is required.Compensation and Benefits:
