Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and experienced Head Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and overall health of our premier golf course. Established in 1922, Litchfield Country Club (LCC) is a premier private club located in Litchfield, IL. The Club features a 9-hole championship golf course across 60 scenic acres and has recently completed significant capital improvements. ○ Bent/Poa pushup greens ○ Zoysia tees and fairways ○ Turf-type fescue rough ○ Practice facility upgrades (2025) ○ Pump Station upgrades (2024) ○ Sprinkler Head upgrades (2023-2024) ○ New equipment lease ○ LCC is financially stable, member-focused, and committed to long-term agronomic excellence and continued property enhancement. Duties • Lead and supervise the golf course maintenance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment • Develop and implement comprehensive landscape maintenance plans to ensure optimal turf health, tree care, and garden aesthetics • Oversee irrigation systems to maintain proper watering schedules, troubleshoot issues, and optimize water efficiency • Manage lawn care activities including mowing, fertilization, aeration, and pest control to promote lush, healthy playing surfaces • Coordinate construction projects such as bunker renovations, drainage improvements, or landscape upgrades with contractors and internal teams • Conduct regular inspections of the course to identify areas needing attention and ensure adherence to safety standards • Implement horticulture best practices for plant health, pruning, fertilizing, and pest management • Pool Maintenance Requirements • Proven experience supervising landscaping or golf course maintenance teams with strong leadership skills • Extensive knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques including turf management, lawn care, tree care, gardening, and horticulture • Hands-on experience with irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance • Familiarity with construction processes related to golf course improvements or landscaping projects • Strong understanding of environmental sustainability practices within landscape management • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively • Ability to communicate clearly with team members, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals • 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field ○ Illinois Pesticide License (or ability to obtain within 30 days) Join us as we uphold the highest standards of golf course excellence!
