About the Role

The Human Resource Generalist is a dynamic, detail-oriented role that delivers HR support and strategic guidance to property managers, executives, and leadership teams. This position requires expertise across multiple HR disciplines — including employee relations, compliance, performance management, HRIS, and training — and serves as a trusted partner in aligning HR practices with organizational goals.

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, the HR Generalist drives proactive engagement and ensures consistent, compliant, and people-centered HR delivery. This is a fully on-site position based at the Pebble Beach property.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations & Employee Support

- Manage and support a broad range of HR processes, proactively engaging with managers and employees to resolve issues and drive positive outcomes.

- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution — including investigations via calls, email, ethics hotlines, and case management systems.

- Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems; run and analyze reports to support data-driven decision-making.

- Partner with Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development to deliver integrated HR solutions.

Compliance & Policy

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, labor regulations and organizational policies and practices.

- Educate managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and programs; support consistent implementation across the property.

- Coach managers to strengthen leadership skills and effectively navigate employee interactions and complex business situations.

Employee & Labor Relations

- Assist managers with employee relations including attendance, performance, conduct, workplace conflict, and leave administration.

- Support the administration and interpretation of the collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).

- Help resolve employee concerns through effective investigation and problem-solving support including gathering of information from documentation to conversations and recommended actions.

- Partner with leadership, HR Team and legal on complex employee and labor relation situations while maintaining a positive work environment.

Payroll & Administrative Support

- Process and review timecard entries to ensure accuracy and timely submission in accordance with company policy and applicable wage and hour requirements.

- Conduct regular payroll audits to identify and resolve discrepancies, partnering with the Payroll team as needed.

- Support pay-period close activities and maintain documentation for audit readiness.

Other

- Travel as needed for site visits, training, and audits.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field and minimum of 3 years of HR experience, equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.

- Experience working in a unionized workforce

- Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and HR best practices.

- Working knowledge of California-specific employment law requirements, including meal and rest period obligations, final pay rules, mandatory harassment prevention training (SB 1343), and Paid Sick Leave regulations under the HWHFA.

- Proficiency with HRIS systems (UKG preferred) and experience with payroll functions, including timecard entry, review, and audit processes.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at all levels including conflict resolution.

- Experience with collective bargaining agreements, grievance procedures and investigation practices.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

- Flexibility to respond to weekend or after-hours communications as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification.

- Experience facilitating training sessions, webinars, and onboarding programs.

Compensation: $70,000-85,000/year dependent on experience
