Golf Course Superintendent Senior (Division of Parks and Recreation) SALARY
The minimum salary is $65,049.92 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.

FILING DEADLINE DATE The deadline to apply is Monday, March 16, 2026GENERAL DESCRIPTION The purpose of this classification is to supervise the maintenance of grounds to include the care for greens, fairways and tees of a premier level Parks Golf Course.
This position supervises the maintenance of grounds at Kearney Hill Golf Links. Grounds maintenance activities include caring for greens, fairways, and tees plus the irrigation systems, construction activities, overseeing general landscaping and preparation for large golf events. This position ensures ability to maintain a golf course in maximum playing condition while remaining within budgetary guidelines.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college education in a field related to the job Six (6) years of related experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises, trains and evaluates the work of subordinates, establishing goals and daily priorities
Manages all personnel functions by developing, maintaining, and evaluating personnel in effective, efficient and safe work procedures Follows up and reviews all work performed Provides an effective staff to achieve goals for assigned areas of responsibility Inspects the golf course turf health for disease and damage; applies pesticide and chemicals as necessary Evaluates and maintains course equipment, irrigation systems, and general landscaping Prepares golf course for major tournaments and outings Ensures proper completion of all course remodeling, layout changes, and special projects Performs administrative functions to include, but not limited to, budgeting, incident and safety reporting, purchasing, and inventory management Achieves department goals through development and management of an effective budget Manages equipment, materials, and resources effectively Works with third parties to purchase, promote, improve and create alternative uses for golf course Stays current on policies, procedures, safety and best management practices Ensures a safe environment for employees, members and guests Performs related work as assigned Maintains a professional image with customers, employees, and the community Through continuing education, sustains innovative operating methods in all areas of responsibility SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
