Description Job Overview: The Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Director of Golf. The Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course greens, tees, fairways, rough, native areas and cart paths; supervises the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment; and completes related work as required.

Prepares Daily maintenance routine with Director of Golf Consults with Director of Golf on all activities including but not limited to: Aeration/Spraying/Top Dressing etc. Prepares Annual Budget with Director of Golf Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, rough and native areas; schedules work and supervises the employees and the use of equipment. Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises pesticide/fertilizer applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide/fertilizer application equipment; supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems. Assists in personnel management and evaluation, employee safety, personal discipline and may also modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation. Assists in overseeing Club grounds including environmentally sensitive areas in and around the golf course. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Requires working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course greens, tees, fairways; the seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf; the planting, cultivation, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs and trees; the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and irrigation system, including wells, pumps and automatic controls. Procures Supplies (herbicides/pesticides/fertilizer etc.) within budget guidelines. Orders, Receives & Reconciles all products in timely manner. Ensures all Maintenance Equipment is Properly Maintained w/accurate maintenance records of all equipment. Ensures that Maintenance Facility & surrounding area is neat & clean. Hires, trains, schedules & motivates Maintenance Staff. Ensures safe work practices are developed and followed by staff. Skills & Qualifications: Superintendent experience or 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Superintendent or an Associate or higher college degree in Agronomy or Landscape Management. (Certified GCSAA Member a plus) Proficient computer skills required for financial reporting and control of operations, including use of Microsoft Office Suite. Valid Driver\'s License. Must be a licensed Pesticide Applicator and possess knowledge & experience to safely mix all chemicals used in the maintenance of a golf course. Physical Requirements: Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis Have the ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally. Compensation: $87,000 annually
