About the Role
Crystal Lake Golf Club, conveniently located in Lakeville, Minnesota, is seeking a motivated, career- driven Senior Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our leadership team. This year-round position plays a pivotal role in daily operations, agronomic execution, crew leadership, and long-term course conditioning. • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent with all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic planning.
• Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
• Execute daily turf management practices including mowing, rolling, verti-cutting, topdressing, and other cultural programs.
• Oversee chemical and fertilizer applications; maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Monitor turf health, moisture, and performance; identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Help plan and implement long-range improvement projects and capital upgrades.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Serve as acting Superintendent in the Superintendent’s absence.
Qualifications
• Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3 - 5 years of progressive golf course maintenance experience; supervisory experience required.
• Strong understanding of cool-season turf management, including bentgrass/poa greens.
• Minnesota Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
• Working knowledge of Toro irrigation systems, moisture management, and modern turf equipment.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Support snow removal operations for clubhouse, parking lot, and grounds during winter months.
