Job Description JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Events Operations Manager is responsible for the successful administration, coordination and execution of special events. Assisting in the development of the food and beverage Banquet department by being prepared with all the details and supervising front line service staff by means of planning, orientation, training, coaching, as outlined by the Head of Events. EVENTS OPERATIONS MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS: - Assists the Head of Events from start to finish for each event - Lead and assist the service staff including servers, bartenders, and bus-persons - Formulate Staff training functions and assisting in hiring, training and scheduling - Conduct and supervise opening/closing duties as determined per event - Act as a liaison between Head of Events, Banquet staff, and Kitchen staff EVENTS OPERATION MANAGER DUTIES: - Have a thorough knowledge of BEOs, set up, layouts and maximum room configurations for a variety of banquet activities including meetings, conferences, exhibits, receptions and charity functions, banquets and events, and golf outings - Discuss event strategy with appropriate Department Heads as outlined in BEOs - Assist Food and Beverage department personnel (serving, bartending, hosting) - Communicate with Kitchen personnel in an effective manner regarding quality control, and timing of event service (banquets, meetings, weddings) - Ensure all staff report for duty on time, in correct uniform and with name badge - Assist to inspect, organize and report linen/table skirting inventories and needs - Assist to inspect and report properly operating equipment- tables, chairs, supplies - Responsible for monthly banquet bar inventory by the first of each month - Review, oversee and organize/clean the Banquet bars - Keep Banquet supply storage areas clean and organized at all times - Assist in other areas as asked; and also cross-train for help in the Restaurant areas Goals and Objectives: To exceed the expectations of members, guests, groups by offering consistent and courteous service on a daily basis. To grow and develop as a prominent team leader by using effective coaching, training and motivational techniques and gain the respect of fellow staffers. Lead by example and remember that training staff is a continuous process. JOB SPECIFICATIONS- Assistant Events Coordinator Work Characteristics - Work on a fluctuating work schedule, including Holidays, weekends and late evenings - Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain detailed organization Professional and Technical Knowledge - Understanding of the Country Club industry - Background in hospitality and event coordinating/meeting and banquet planning - General understanding of audio-visual equipment - Must be able to operate point of sale systems, floor plan systems, and basic computer Skills - Supervisory, training, coaching and management skills - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Ability to jump in and fill roles of bartenders, servers, or bussers as necessary - Ability to perform as a server, bartender, and busser as needed Compensation - Competitive pay - Events Gratuity pool ($8,000 - $10,000/annually) in addition to salary - Health/Dental available after 60 days - 401K Plan after one year - Vacation pay - Meals provided - Education allowance Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year Benefits: - 401(k) - 401(k) matching - Dental insurance - Employee discount - Flexible schedule - Health insurance - Health savings account - Life insurance - Paid time off - Referral program Experience: - Events management or planning: 1 year (Preferred) - Customer Service or Hospitality: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person
