Position Summary: Responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting with the daily operation of the golf course, golf shop, outside golf services, and related facility operations. This position requires an organized, dependable, hands-on individual who can effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced golf environment.The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for golfers and staff, ensuring that tee times, golfer check-in, point-of-sale transactions, outside services, and daily golf operations run efficiently and professionally. Essential Responsibilities Golf Shop & Customer Service Greet and professionally assist all members, guests, and daily-fee golfers. Check golfers in for their tee times and ensure accurate player and payment information. Answer telephone calls, respond to golfer questions, and provide information regarding tee times, course conditions, policies, and services. Schedule, modify, and cancel tee times using the golf course's tee-time system. Manage walk-in golfers and assist with daily tee sheet adjustments. Operate the golf shop point-of-sale system accurately, including merchandise, greens fees, cart fees, range fees, food and beverage, and other transactions. Maintain accurate cash-handling procedures and assist with daily reconciliation.Assist with merchandising, inventory control, stocking, displays, and maintaining an organized and attractive golf shop. Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming golf shop environment.Golf Course Operations Assist with the overall daily operation of the golf facility. Coordinate with golf course maintenance, outside services, food and beverage, and management to ensure a smooth operation.Monitor the daily tee sheet and communicate changes, special events, outings, and course conditions to appropriate staff.Assist in coordinating golf outings, tournaments, leagues, and special events.Help ensure that golfers receive consistent and professional service from arrival through completion of their round.Assist management with identifying operational problems and finding practical solutions.Outside Golf ServicesSupervise and assist outside golf staff, including starters, cart attendants, bag attendants, and other golf operations personnel.Assign daily duties and ensure staff members are properly positioned and performing their responsibilities. Monitor cart staging, cleanliness, availability, and return procedures.Help coordinate golfer arrivals, cart assignments, starting times, and pace-of-play procedures.Ensure outside staff maintains professional customer-service standards.Assist with training new employees and reinforcing established operating procedures.Communicate staffing issues, customer concerns, and operational needs to management. Snack BarsistanceAssist with the operation of the snack bar when needed .Take food and beverage orders and operate the point-of-sale system. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of the snack bar. Assist with daily opening and closing procedures. Maintain accurate records and communicate important information to management.Monitor supplies and notify management when inventory or operational supplies need to be reordered. Assist with staff scheduling and daily assignments as directed by management. Help enforce golf course policies and procedures in a professional and courteous manner. Protect company assets and ensure proper handling of cash, merchandise, golf carts, and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Customer Service Expectations represents the golf facility and is expected to provide a high level of professionalism at all times.The employee should: Be friendly, courteous, and approachable. Maintain a professional appearance.Communicate effectively with golfers and fellow employees. Remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult customers or unexpected situations. Take initiative rather than waiting to be directed when operational needs arise. Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities. Promote a positive team environment. Qualifications Previous golf course, golf shop, hospitality, retail, or customer-service experience preferred. Knowledge of golf and familiarity with golf course operations strongly preferred.Previous supervisory experience preferred.Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale and tee-time system.Strong organizational and communication skills.Basic cash-handling and computer skills.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, holidays, and peak golf periods.Must be able to work effectively in an outdoor environment and remain active throughout the workday.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry supplies and merchandise as reasonably required.The primary objective of this position is to help ensure that the entire golf operation runs efficiently, professionally, and with a strong emphasis on customer service. Should be willing to step into whatever area of the operation needs assistance, whether that is the golf shop, tee sheet, outside services, snack bar, tournaments, or general golf-course operations.
