Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent assists in the planning, coordination, and supervision of the daily maintenance and management of golf facility. Working alongside the Course Superintendent, this position provides hands-on leadership while helping deliver exceptional playing conditions, overseeing agronomic programs, and developing a high-performing maintenance team.

Primary Responsibilities
• Assist in supervising all daily golf course maintenance operations.
• Plan, assign, and monitor daily work schedules for maintenance staff.
• Train, mentor, onboard, and develop employees while promoting a positive team culture.
• Assist with irrigation scheduling, troubleshooting, and water management.
• Monitor turfgrass health and assist with fertility, pesticide, and cultural practice programs.
• Inspect course conditions and maintain championship-quality playing surfaces.
• Serve as acting supervisor in the absence of the Course Superintendent when assigned.
• Assist with tournament preparation and special event course setup.
• Help oversee golf course construction and renovation projects.
• Maintain accurate records related to pesticide applications, irrigation activities, and maintenance operations.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely and maintained properly.
• Assist with labor management, budgeting, inventory, and recordkeeping.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with Club policies, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in weekend and holiday management rotations

Requirements
Previous experience in golf course maintenance with supervisory responsibilities.
Current Florida pesticide license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Strong understanding of warm-season turfgrass management.
Knowledge of irrigation systems and water management principles.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Passion for delivering exceptional golf course conditions.
Golf course construction or renovation experience is preferred
Warm-season turfgrass management, including TifEagle Greens, Bimini Bermuda, and Zoysia
Equipment and labor management
Compensation
$55,000 – $65,000 per year.
