About the Role
Our client, a premier golf club, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the meticulous maintenance and exceptional presentation of their renowned course. This role demands a passion for turfgrass management, a strong understanding of agronomy, and exceptional leadership abilities. You will be responsible for all aspects of course maintenance, including budgeting, staff management, pest and disease control, irrigation systems, and implementing sustainable practices. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering an unparalleled playing experience for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans for the golf course, practice areas, and surrounding grounds. Manage, train, and supervise a team of groundskeepers and maintenance staff. Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all golf course machinery and equipment. Develop and manage the annual golf course maintenance budget. Monitor turf conditions and implement appropriate watering, fertilization, and pest/disease control programs. Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and promote sustainable turf management practices. Coordinate course maintenance activities with the Golf Professional and Club Management. Maintain immaculate playing surfaces, including greens, fairways, and bunkers, to the highest standards. Manage irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage and turf health. Stay current with the latest advancements in turfgrass science and golf course maintenance techniques. Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Certification from a recognized professional turfgrass organization (e.g., GCSAA) is highly preferred. Extensive knowledge of turfgrass species, soil science, pest and disease management, and irrigation systems. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with budgeting and financial management. A strong commitment to providing exceptional course conditions and member satisfaction. This is an on-site position requiring your constant presence to ensure the highest standards of course maintenance are met at all times.
