Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join our Agronomy team as an Assistant Mechanic. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a basic understanding of hand tools and a strong desire to learn turf equipment maintenance at a championship-level facility. Working alongside an experienced Equipment Manager, the Assistant Mechanic will gain hands-on exposure to all aspects of golf course equipment maintenance and repair. Our goal is to develop your mechanical knowledge, diagnostic ability, and preventative maintenance skills in a professional, well-equipped shop environment — with long-term growth in mind. Starting Pay is \$23.00 to \$25.00 per hour
Responsibilities
Assist with routine maintenance and repair of golf course equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, sprayers, tractors, and small enginesAssist with reel and bedknife grinding and cutting unit setupPerform daily equipment and cutting unit inspections to ensure readiness for next-day operationsConduct oil changes, blade maintenance, lubrication, and general equipment inspectionsAssist with troubleshooting mechanical issues under supervisionSafely and correctly use hand tools and shop equipmentMaintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environmentSupport daily equipment readiness to ensure smooth course operationsRequirements
Basic understanding of hand tools and strong mechanical aptitudeWillingness to learn and grow within the turf equipment industryAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsTeam-oriented attitude with good communication skillsStrong work ethic and attention to detailAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamAbility to lift at least 50 lbsAvailability for early mornings and alternating weekends during the golf seasonAmbition to develop into a Lead or Head Equipment Manager over timeHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Valid Drivers License.Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.Nice-to-haves
Previous experience in mechanical, small engine, automotive, or equipment maintenanceTechnical schooling or coursework in mechanics, small engines, diesel engines, or a related fieldPrior experience working on a golf course maintenance team or similar construction experience.Knowledge of large and small engine operation and repair.Knowledge of hydraulic powered machine operation and repair.Benefits
