## Seasonal Golf Course Maintenance Laborer/ Greenskeeper — The Hills (East Quogue, NY)
Join the Discovery family at The Hills located at 65 Lewis Rd, East Quogue, NY 11942. We are seeking seasonal Golf Course Maintenance Laborers/ Greenskeepers to join the Golf Course Agronomy Department. These positions will be full time from May 5, 2026 – December 1, 2026 and are eligible for H2B visa sponsorship. Schedules/Work Hours are 40 hours per week with shifts between 5:00 AM – 8:00PM (Multiple different shifts offered throughout the day). Workdays: Sunday – Saturday.
You will help create the Discovery Land Company experience by maintaining turf and course features every day. Typical tasks include operating mowers and string trimmers to trim greens, aprons, tees, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edging cart paths, raking, and maintaining sand bunkers. You will set tee markers and cups on greens daily, maintain ball washers, replace tee towels and flags when needed, remove debris, sand and seed tee and drop area divots, and clean flower beds.
Daily equipment care is part of the job: you will maintain fuel and fluid levels for riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and golf carts, report equipment problems to the equipment manager, return equipment to designated locations, and keep maintenance areas clean. Under the direction of the Superintendent or Golf Course Maintenance Supervisor, you will mark the course for cart control weekly, move cart control barriers, replace worn or lost ropes and signs, and may mark hazard and drop areas.
There will be opportunities to water and fertilize tees, greens, and fairways, and under direct supervision of the Director of Agronomy and Superintendent, spray chemicals on landscaped areas. You may grade and prepare soil base, lay sod, seed tees, greens and fairways, and assist with maintenance and repair of irrigation systems including sprinkler heads and pipes. You may be asked to operate mowers and small utility vehicles for golf course use, such as the John Deere TX gator weighing approximately 600 lbs., or other light equipment. Performs any other duties as assigned.
At least three (3) months of prior experience on a golf course maintenance or golf course construction crew is required. Possession of a valid driver’s license or international equivalent is required. You must be able to operate trucks, golf carts, and lightly motorized equipment and have knowledge of operating hand and power tools and golf course maintenance equipment. A background check will be performed at the expense of the employer.

You must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands. The ability to work in a team environment and stay calm and focused during the busiest of times is important. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
The position has physical demands: work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
Compensation and practical details: $21.91 - $24.50 USD per hour with overtime available at $32.86 per hour up to $36.75 per hour, based on hourly rate. Returning workers and workers with experience may be paid higher wage rates. Employee Meals, Referral Incentives, and Recognition Programs are available. Employer provides transportation to and from all worksites. Optional housing is offered through a separate rental company; cost of housing and utilities, if accepted, is $100.00 - $150.00 per week for a shared room. Employer will not deduct for rent; rent will be paid directly to a separate company via electronic payment, no cash.
